Digital/Video/Skate Battle - Questions
Here are some of the questions posted by Eyan from Surkrew regarding the competition.
1. Is it open to rollerbladers only?
Technically its opened to rollerbladers but if a skateboarding crew wants to participate, we aint hatin, just that we'll need to get some skateboarding friends to judge as well.
2. Are we limited to submit only 1 video per person/crew?
You can submitt as many as you want but only the best will be showcased.
3. Closing date is end of July, which is 31st July 2009 correct?
Right on with the closing date
4. Prize would be only for 1st place (no 2nd or 3rd prizes?)
For now the cash price is for 1st place, if the rest of the sponsors have finalized their decisions then maybe there might be 2nd and 3rd placing give away.Or Heck, Winner takes all.
5. Vimeo or youtube uploaded video is acceptable correct?
We would suggest rapidshare or those of its kinda, unless you would want the rest of the participants to know what you have done and give them a chance to up your edit then you can proceed with uploading them in youtube/vimeo but we would still need the file for the premiere.
6. The part you said "edit showcasing yourself and your crew" - does that mean the videographer/editor must be in the video skating as well? Let's say I'm taking the video and editing it, but I don't have any clips of me skating in the video, would my video still be eligible for entry? Or do I still have to skate to be eligible to enter?
Lets say a videographer wants to take part in this and hires a few rollerbladers to skate and the person captures and edits thats fine as well.Provided the crew has an understanding with that videographer.
7. If we have posted a video only already, say in vimeo or youtube, can we still posted the video for entry?
If you want to submit an earlier entry as you submission, thats fine but bear in mind this is not tricks based competition and if your edit is grainy and of bad quality, that might cost you.
Thanks Eyan for the questions, if there is any more feel free to drop it at manipulativeminds@gmail.com.
Peace.
